On Airbnb as well as available direct book. We named this house The Gunstock Shanty- its name is fitting; the smell of rough sawn wood greets you and the vibe is earthy and warm. A feeling of calmness and adventure awaits as one enters under the custom-built timber frame portico. It’s not often we find a gem like this one that needs restoration, renovation and heart but that’s what made this one so special. This home gave us the opportunity to really create something custom, right down to the live-edge mulberry wood which was once our childhood tree. As we sanded the pine on the ceiling and walls we felt a sense of rejuvenation as the old wood began to smell fresh and new. We used dark, bold, earthy and rustic tones and texture, bringing nature in, and harnessing the inner rustic nature of the Shanty that deserved to be set free. Black honed granite, torched pine, brick, natural stone and Douglas fir are just some of the materials that we used for our rustic expression. A 1/2 a mile from Gunstock Mountain Resort, minutes to Weirs Beach and Bank of NH Pavilion.
